Bedazzled Tomb

When you long to be held

To feel a loving touch

Just the simplest words

Can stir a heart.

The heart believes with acceptance

That every word spoken is true

It just wants to be captured

In a bedazzled tomb.

Light reflecting jewels along the walls,

Cascading down like rain.

Their light shows the many corpses

That lay at my feet, slain.

Each decaying corpse

Relives a moment in time.

Where my soul lay dying

From some unknown crime.

Could it have been, a crime so vile?

Loving to much?

Expecting the best?

I gave my heart freely

Now it’s laid to rest.

And rest it will, of a thousand bad dreams.

Never to be awaken,

Trapped in a bedazzled tomb.

Where things look beautiful

But leads me to my doom.
