Shy by nature, bravery doesn’t come easy
Talk myself into things, then right back out again.
It happens over and over until one day the bravery finally wins out.
Following an instinct, I act upon it.
When that action is returned, I reply to it.
When that reply is returned, I pause so as not to overwhelm or push away.
Occasional messages give way to daily chats, whether brief or hours long.
Random conversations about nothing
Deeper conversations about everything.
Questions asked to learn about this person that is so intriguing.
Sharing parts of one’s self that are often kept private.
Trusting came more quickly than anticipated, so unexpected.
Things shared between two making the hidden longing for other things come to light.
Always on my mind, in my thoughts, but wait…..
What is that…..nervous butterflies?
Where did that come from?
When did it start?
Will it be like this when I can actually kiss his face?
Or will I be able to control it?
Time will show us sooner or later, in some way.
All of this so very unexpected
But then again, sometimes the most unexpected things are the best.
